Many rats, bots and other viruses can disable most AV programs, usually not all though because that takes an awful lot of programming. You might want to run a "hijackthis!" log and learn how to read it. If you're that worried about it, you might want to either get a mac -- or stay off the internet completely (again, LOL!) Whatever you do, DON'T download anything! Hackers can "spoof" the email addresses of others to make it look like it came from your own mother.
