MICE Training & Technology On-Line Privacy Policy
Mahler's Independent Consulting Enterprises, or MICE Training & Technology (also called MICE, MICE, or MICE TnT) is committed to respecting the privacy of its client's and the public. We recognize your need for appropriate protection and management of the personally identifiable information you share with us.
MICE has established this Privacy Policy so that you can understand how we intend to treat your information in terms of security and how we intend to use your information in terms of our own marketing efforts.
PUBLIC SITE & INFORMATION WE OBTAIN
Anyone can access the MICE Training and Technology Public Web Site without identifying themselves or giving a password. Those accessing the MICE Web site are not identified by name.
A special script is installed on our web server that allows us to track visitors by country of origin, method of access (as in dsl, dialup, and so forth), and type of browser used. This assists us in designing a site that is accessible to all types of visitors internationally.
The script also shows us how visitors enter our site (referring site link or search engine) and from what page you left the site. This assists us in recognizing weaknesses in our page design and site layout.
The information that we collect in our statistics log is used internally and is never shared with a third party. We use these logs to enhance our site by either making our pages easier to navigate, enhance browser support and/or improve communications with foreign visitors.
The IP address used when accessing the site is also logged. This may be the IP address of your router, your Internet Service Provider (ISP), or your own private IP address. While some IP addresses can identify you specificially, MICE never uses IP addresses logged on our general site for any marketing or identification purposes.
At no time is your e-mail address, name, or any other personally identifiable information ever given to us or our access logs when entering our site in general. The exceptions to this are our Member's Only section, and our eLearning Portal as described below.
STUDENTS & COURSE REGISTRATION
eLearning Portal
MICE Training & Technology will be applying for accreditation as a legal, online technical/trade educational facility. For that reason, we must adhere to certain federal and state guidelines in terms of our students.
Among those requirements is the Privacy Act as it relates to and for educational institutions. We are restricted from sharing student information, files, and grades from any party other than the student.
All information you share with us for registration of our courses as a course participant is kept confidential.
MEMBERS ONLY SITE & INFORMATION WE OBTAIN
Subscription members of our Member's Only site are required to log in and a login script is maintained to insure that only paying and/or otherwise registered members are accessing the secured area.
As described on the sign-up form for the Member's Only site, users have two options for gaining access to exclusive content not available to the general public. The first option is to register for free, giving us a legitimate name and mailing address for our marketing list AND checking the box giving us permission to use your US or other country mailing address for all marketing purposes including list sales. This allows us to recover some of our costs of maintaining the web site while you access our content for free.
The second option is to pay for the Member's Only access with a membership fee. When this option is chosen, your information is not added to our marketing list and will not be given to any third parties for marketing purposes.
Whether you choose the first or second option, your e-mail address is always kept private. We never sell or give your e-mail address to third parties.
The information collected by our login script is:
User Name (which must match a registered user)
User IP Address (which must match home or work IP address of registered user)
Access Date and Time
Logout Date and Time
No other identifying information or tracking is gathered.
Your password is stored in an encrypted, secured database. MICE, nor any of our staff can access those passwords. If you lose your login name or password, only the script can send you the information to the e-mail address you registered under.
The access logs and any identifiable information is kept by MICE exclusively. After reviewing access information, which is checked monthly, these logs are destroyed.
