Public Notice of Trademarks and Servicemarks

Why this policy? Allow me to tell you a brief story....

When I first started this company (1997) and I was teaching in the local colleges using my own printed material, I failed to put the copyright notice on the pages of my handouts. I also failed to file copyright paperwork on the documents - notice or not.

A student was taking my courses with the intention of starting a business using all my material. How do I know? Because after the course, she approached me and told me what she and her partners were doing and that they would be using all my material since I failed to copyright it.

That was mistake #1.

Several years later, I developed a phrase to describe the way we taught technology. Again, I failed to give notice and failed to file the appropriate documentation.

Two years ago, I was contacted by the now legal owners of that trademarked phrase with a request to cease and desist or they would need to engage their attorney. I, of course, complied and removed the phrase from our site.

That was mistake #2.

What's that saying? "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!"

Now, I document, file, and publicly notify regarding our intellectual property. I WILL NOT be fooled again! I also have mechanisms set up to insure that our intellectual property (IP) is not being used including, but not limited to, Google Alerts to notify me when any of our IP is being used elsewhere. And if you're on this page, chances are good that you received a message from me regarding the unlawful use of our IP, trademarks, servicemarks, or copyrights. I have also set up other forms of business intellegence (BI) to protect our information.

That is why this notice. That being said, our public notice follows.

The MICE™ Logo and MICE™ Logo Graphics are trademarks of MICE Training & Technology™.

The name, MICE Training & Technology™ and the subsequent corporate name of MICE Training & Technology™, Inc., or MICE Training && Technology, LLC are trademarks of MICE™

The name, MICE Training, Technology & Education™ and the subsequent corporate name of MICE Training, Technology & Education™, Inc., or MICE Training, Technology & Education, LLC are trademarks of MICE™

The name, MICE Technology Institute™ (MTI) and the subsequent corporate name of MICE Training Institute™, Inc., or MICE Training Institute™, LLC are trademarks of MICE™.

The name, Technical Tidbits™ used to brand our Blog, Newsletter, & BlogTalk Radio is also a trademark of MICE Training & Technology™.

The trademarks, servicemarks and/or copyrights have been used in the public domain called the Internet or World Wide Web since the creation and publication of our website in 1997. We have verifiable proof of publication.

Use of the MICE™ logo, trademarks and servicemarks are strictly prohibited and aggressively enforced.
